News and Announcements
The countdown to the season is on! Camps have started this week and will continue into next week, and then the start to the season is just around the corner. Times for all camps as well as tryout times are posted on the website calendar.
If you are trying out for the rep teams, you should have been contacted by your divisional coordinator. If you have not been contacted, please contact your coordinator directly as per emails below. Please note that this year the Bantam & Midget skills sessions are no longer a part of the tryout process. Your coordinators will also be sending you a complete rep tryout document later this week that should answer any questions you may have. However, if you have further questions, please get in touch with Sharron Tulk, firstname.lastname@example.org directly.
The season for the C teams will begin the week of September 4th. Schedules should be coming your way by August 28th, so please be prepared to go on the ice anytime from Tuesday onward.
Initiation ice times will begin the week of the 18th, and schedules will be sent out by your initiation coordinator.
Last but not least, if you are looking to get geared up, our friends at The Hockey Shop in Surrey are offering the PMAHA membership $50 off your next purchase of $250 or more. To redeem your coupon, go to www.thehockeyshop.com/pmaha.

A big welcome to our new RIC team! We are very excited to announce that Trevor Nolan will be joining our team as Referee in Chief. Trevor comes to PMAHA with a wealth of reffing experience. Starting his career in PMAHA, Trevor now refs for the BCHL and will be attending the WHL reffing camp at the end of the summer. Trevor will be overseeing the referee mentorship program and help develop the strategic path for our young referees who want to move up the referee ladder. Joining Trevor is Wayne Yeung who will be assisting with scheduling and administration. Thank you to both of them for taking on this role.
PMAHA is still accepting applications for returning referees only. All new referee spaces have been filled. Please contact Trevor at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Thanks everyone, and we look forward to seeing you in a few weeks!
It’s true – there are only 5 weeks until PMAHA hockey officially gets underway! I hope everyone is having a great summer, and enjoying some time with family and friends.
Just a couple of reminders as we get closer to the start of the season.
Referees – 2017/18 New and returning referee applications are due+ by July 15th+. If you want to wear the stripes this year, be sure to get your application in. Click REF FORM and return a completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Summer Camps – There are still some space left for our upcoming summer camps – all divisions from initiation to Midget are scheduled for the weeks of August 14 & 21. Click CAMPS to register.
Rep tryouts – just a reminder that rep tryouts begin on Saturday, August 26th. Please be prepared to be on the ice from this day onward. There will be no tryout times over the long weekend. Click CALENDAR and check for updates on the schedule.
Volunteers – we are still looking for a number of volunteers.
Referee Scheduler – Responsible for the scheduling of referees Bantam house and below (this is assisted through an automated system – Assignr.com)
Divisional Coordinators – Currently we have the following people slotted into divisional coordinator roles:
Initiation 1&2 – OPEN
Initiation 3&4 – Leah Zille
Atom – Winson Chan
Atom – OPEN
Bantam – Jennifer Boyko
Bantam – OPEN
Midget – OPEN
Midget – OPEN
Divisional coordinators play a critical role during tryouts and the early part of the season. Without volunteers, tryouts cannot happen, and rust removal ice times/balancing games cannot be coordinated. Ideally, we would like two coordinators per division so at this time we are looking for 5 additional volunteers to step forward for these vacant positions.
Please contact Sharron Tulk – email@example.com if you would like to put your name forward for any of these roles.
CALLING ALL NEW AND RETURNING ICE OFFICIALS
We are now accepting application forms for BOTH NEW AND RETURNING ice officials to referee games and tournaments in Port Moody. The form is available under the REFEREE menu on our website or by clicking here.
Please print it out, scan it and send your completed application forms to firstname.lastname@example.org by July 15th.
WANTED – DIVISIONAL COORDINATORS
We are still looking for eager volunteers to fill Divisional Coordinator positions for all division levels – Divisional Coordinators are responsible for organizing teams and tryouts before team managers are selected. There is quite a bit of upfront work during late August and early September, but the role evolves into mainly a communication one for the remainder of the season. Great way to get involved and chip in. If you are available to take on one of these roles, please get in touch with Sharron Tulk. email@example.com.
