Kickoff was yesterday with special guests Kirk McLean and Fin of the Vancouver Canucks. Come down to the rink for the next few Mondays and see our kids enjoying the sport for the first time. Or check out our album with pictures of opening day courtesy of the Canucks media staff.

The Port Moody Amateur Hockey Association (PMAHA) has been selected to host one of the Vancouver Canucks Learn2Play hockey programs. The program is for first year kids with an emphasis on fun. Operated under the NHL/NHLPA Learn2Play guidelines with support from provincial minor hockey associations, FREE equipment will be distributed to selected young athletes between the ages of 4 to 6 (Hockey 1 players).

The program allows kids to easily try hockey, with qualified instructors and Hockey Canada approved lesson plans. The Vancouver Canucks Learn 2 Play program includes enrollment for a six (6) week on-ice curriculum and head-to-toe equipment that each child can keep. This pilot program is a great introductory point for minor hockey kids to try hockey and learn the basics of the game.
